Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 September 2026

This policy explains what WikiRide collects when you ride with us, why we collect it, and the control you keep over it. It applies to the WikiRide app and this website.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details you give us: name, email address, phone number, password and any verification documents used to earn the blue checkmark.
  • Rider profile content: bikes in your garage (make, model, VIN, plate, specs), service documents, photos, badges, XP and club memberships.
  • Ride data: routes you plan or join, stops, distance, duration and — while a live group ride is active — your real-time location.
  • Marketplace activity: listings, favourites, offers and messages exchanged with other riders.
  • Technical data: device type, app version, crash reports and basic usage analytics.

2. How we use your information

  • To run core features: creating and joining rides, live group tracking, clubs, marketplace and your garage.
  • To match you with rides and riders through RiderDNA, based on pace, bike type and riding style.
  • To verify identity and keep the community trustworthy, including preventing fraud and abuse.
  • To deliver SOS alerts with your live location to your ride group and chosen emergency contacts.
  • To award XP, badges, ranks and Rewards Store points.
  • To send ride notifications, safety alerts and — only with your consent — product updates.

3. Location data

  • Precise location is used only when you are on an active ride, when you trigger SOS, or when you ask to see rides near you.
  • You can stop location sharing at any time in your device settings or in the app's privacy controls. Turning it off disables live group tracking and SOS location.

4. Sharing your information

  • With other riders: your public profile, badges and listings are visible according to your privacy settings.
  • With your ride group and emergency contacts: your location during a live ride or SOS event.
  • With service providers: hosting, mapping, messaging and analytics partners who process data on our behalf under contract.
  • When required by law, or to protect the safety of a rider or the public.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

5. Your controls and rights

  • Edit or hide profile details, garage items and ride history from your privacy settings.
  • Request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and associated content.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing messages at any time without affecting essential ride and safety notifications.

6. Data retention and security

  • We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only where required for legal, safety or dispute-resolution reasons.
  • Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to authorised personnel, and verification documents are stored separately from your public profile.

7. Children

  • WikiRide is not intended for anyone under 16, or under the minimum legal riding age in your country, whichever is higher.

8. Changes to this policy

  • If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use WikiRide after that means you accept the updated policy.
